Really neat tank idea

Ok, here's my plan. I want to start up a smaller tank (I used to have a
29g but tore it down). I want to get a 5 gallon hex tank and fill it with
slightly brackish water (maybe 1 tablespoon per gallon). I want to have
LOTS of live plants, (you know, stuff that doesn't get too big, like
Amazon Swords, spatterdock, a few crypts and maybe some water sprite and some
red hygro for color). The fish should all be real colorful stuff, and here
is where I need your help.

I'd like to get a small oscar (aren't those veil-tails amazing??), a piranha,
some discus, and some hatchet fish. What do you guys think about adding a
small stingray to this set-up?? Now THAT would be neat.

Is the stingray idea a bad one? Will anyone bother
the slow-moving stingray? And does anyone know a lot about the individual
fishes listed such that they would support or oppose including them?
I plan to use no filtration, or I could use an AquaClear Mini.

Any additional ideas?
Thanks in advance for any info you might have. ;-)

BAD idea. BAD BAD idea. The hatchet fish will jump out and then
you'll be stuck with cruncy fish and you'll have to buy something to
replace them.

Instead, I'd suggest maybe a small koi or two and maybe a beta. But
you'd have to name him Alpha or everything would die. Oh, and a pleco
too! Yeah, don't forget the pleco. They're so cool they have to be
in every tank. I have one in my reef. Cast in acrylic.

Maybe some painted glass fish. I love those colors! Somebody tried
to tell me that they were handpainted, and that they didn't come that
way naturally. I didn't believe him. Who would do that to a fish?

Oh, yeah. You need a diving sea dog too. And it wouldn't be complete
without gravel. Hot pink? Lime green? Maybe half/half?
